Ready for NANOWRIMO

Bizarre set of dreams last night … or at least one running dream that ran through waking up several times. Essentially I dreamt an entire self-contained novel. Probably not a good one, but I’m going to spend the next several days sketching and outlining what I can remember in preparation for a draft next November when NANOWRIMO rolls around.  I’ve always wanted to do a NANOWRIMO … it’s on my 43things list.

Not to give too much away, but it’s very Franz Kafka meets William Gibson meets Neil Simon; it takes place almost entirely in an old Park Avenue hotel; and the cast of characters include a millionaire and his socialite family, a rock band, the Yakuza, zombies, and a convention of theoretical physicists.

Yeah, it’s quirky, it’s directionless, it’s way too left field, and it’ll entertaining in its suckiness, that’s why it’s a NANOWRIMO effort.
